Mill Trainer/Supervisor [Apr.25, 2008] Location: Duck Pond - Newfoundland, Canada Contact: dpcareers@duckpond.ca Teck Cominco Limited is a diversified mining and metals company, headquartered in Vancouver, BC, Canada. Teck Cominco is a world leader in the production of zinc and metallurgical coal and a significant producer of copper, gold and specialty metals. The Duck Pond copper-zinc operation is located in central Newfoundland within the Exploits Valley Region 30 km from the closest community of Millertown and 100 km southwest of the town of Grand Falls-Windsor. Mining is carried out principally from underground utilizing ramp access at a rate of 1,800 tonnes of ore per day. A flotation mill processes the ore to produce copper and zinc concentrates for sale. Mill Trainer/Supervisor Reporting to the Mill General Foreman, the Mill Trainer/Supervisor will be responsible for providing operational, safety and environmental training to all mill personnel as well as:
The successful candidate must have a post secondary education. Five (5) years copper/zinc/lead operations experience is required with demonstrated leadership, training, and interpersonal skills, as well as current knowledge of mill safety and environmental standards.
