Our Client requires a Plant Mill Manager for its state of the art process plant in West Africa. The incumbent will be responsible for the overall operation and maintenance of a three-tiered process including flotation, bio-oxidation and the CIL treatment of ore.

Reporting to the General Manager you will be responsible for operational performance of the process plants producing safe and profitable results for this area of the company.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and direct the processing operation to assure that production goals and targets are met in accordance with established budgets.
• Supervise 3 direct reports, Plant Maintenance Manager, Plant Production Manager, and the Plant Metallurgist.
• Ensures proper training of all employees in operation, safety, and maintenance functions.
• Ensures that the facility operates in compliance with regulations at all levels; including health, safety and environmental.
• Prepare work schedules and approve operating plans.
• Prepare and maintains production and inventory reports.
• Coordinate with Mine Operations, Purchasing and Finance, to ensure production requirements.

To qualify for this position you will have:

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Metallurgy or Chemistry
• Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven record of production optimisation
• Excellent budgeting skills
• Good record keeping and reporting skills
• 10 - 15 years practical experience in sulphide flotation and gold processing operations

This permanent position is offered on a single or married status rotational FIFO roster from Point of Hire or residential, with housing is provided for at the mine site. An excellent remuneration package including business class air fares is on offer for the right candidate.
