This role liaises with both the operating and technical teams and is accountable to the plant manager, having a number of junior mets reporting to the role. It is an ideal opportunity for a degree qualified Senior Metallurgist to integrate themselves into a complex mining operation by providing support to the operating and technical teams.

Draw on your past experience to:

• Plant optimisation
• Budgeting, Cost analysis and cost control.
• Supervision of all plant operations on the alternate roster to the Met manager
• Analysing and modelling of plant performance data
• Provision of training and technical guidance to the Plant/Project/Graduate Metallurgists
• Auditing daily, weekly and monthly metallurgical accounting
• Reviewing daily, weekly and monthly reports on performance, technical and variance issues
• Provision of support and guidance to consultants and contractors visiting and working within the operation

What we are needing is a degree qualified chemical/metallurgical engineer who has 8 years operational experience in base metals or gold, good leadership skills and the ability to communicate with people at all levels.
