Head of Metallurgy  [May 7, 2008]

Our client is currently working on two major gold projects in the FSU. We are in urgent need for a Head of Metallurgy to join its new team in Moscow.

The candidate for this role will have a minimum of 15 years mining experience as a PLANT METALLURGIST and prior experience in a SENIOR METALLURGIST role. As the role is based in Russia, Russian language skills are a plus.

This position reports directly to the COO and Project Director.

In this role your responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:

  • Manage the operation of the Laboratory
  • Monitor and review plant and lab operational parameters
  • The generation and interpretation of test data
  • Assist the Plant Superintendent in the preparation of budgets and forecasts
  • Actively promote a Safety Culture among all lab personnel

To be successful you will have:

  • Demonstrated skills in report writing, spreadsheets, databases, costing systems, cost control, process plant planning and scheduling, budgets and forecasts
  • Excellent English and preferably Russian communication skills
  • Demonstrated supervisory and man management skills
  • Mineral processing design, start-up, and operating experience
  • Experience in feasibility studies, designing process flow-sheets, developing design criteria, capital and operating costs, mass balance, P&ID review and process equipment sizing, selection and procurement
  • Project management experience

Previous experience in the FSU is highly regarded
