Metallurgical Planning Executive  [May 13, 2008]

Location: Kazakhstan

3-6 months contract

Resources: zinc, silver, copper and gold

Our client is a diversified international resource company listed in Europe. With multiple operations in Kazakhstan - more than 15 open pit mines, 9 concentrators, and two refining and smelting complexes, they are in the top ten primary metals producers in the world.

Our client has recently committed to further develop two copper molybdenum projects involving 2 large low grade porphyry deposits and concentrator development to be mine by open pit methods. Combined, the planned ore production rate is more than 80million tpa.

YOUR ROLE....

The appointed candidate will be integral to a small, highly motivated team, based in Kazakhstan

There is a need for a Metallurgical Planning Executive for 6 to 12 months. The successful candidate will gather and analyse data, creating “what if “ scenarios and modelling twenty year plans for their existing mines, concentrators and smelters.

YOU WILL BE.....

  • Professionally qualified (e.g. AusIMM, P. Geo, EurGeol.), the appointed candidate will have extensive international experience of large scale exploration and development programs.
  • The successful candidate will have a thorough working knowledge of the latest leading edge methods/technologies used in resource calculation and mine – modelling.
  • Preferred experience includes sediment hosted copper, porphyry copper molybdenum, gold, volcanogenic massive sulphide, nickel sulphide or oxide.
  • Prior experience in the FSU along with Russian, Kazakh, Kyrgyz, or Uzbek language skills would be HIGHLY advantageous.
