Introduction to the Company

The Operation…

The Gwalia Mine has a long operating history and extensive gold production record; this project will be a cornerstone in the company portfolio possessing current resources totalling over 6 million ounces and reserves in excess of 1.6Moz.

The development of a new decline to reach the top of the ore at 1000m is on schedule. Target depth is expected to be reached in the June quarter and pre-production and trial mining will follow.

Plant refurbishment and recommissioning is underway and expected to run until July 2008.

Ore is planned to be extracted from both underground and open pit resources with the initial expected production rate of 600ktpa from underground.

A comprehensive resource drilling campaign is being carried out with expected target generation to extend mine life beyond the current 12 years.

The Role…

To optimise all Elution, Goldroom and Tails Disposal activities, ensuring company policies and procedures are being followed so a safe and productive workplace can be maintained.

To promote continuous improvement in all facets of the operation. To assist with the Processing Training Systems to achieve a high level of operator competency

The Goldroom Coordinator at SGwalia is responsible for setting up strategies so Safety, Environmental and Production targets are achieved in accordance with the Processing plan.
