Purpose

To provide senior regional technical advisory services within the processing disciplines to support process improvements along with assurance and governance

The Director Processing will report to the GM Operations Services, North America and provide support and advice to the operations and region. This position will also serve as a conduit through which corporate processing initiatives will work through the various mines in the region. This position will develop and utilize an approved list of 3rd party business partners on an as needed basis. This position may form small teams to focus on limited duration projects, risks, improvement opportunities, etc.. In addition to utilizing third parties, these teams may consist of Newmont expertise (with approval of respective managers) selected from the operations, corporate Technical Services (TS) and/or Operating Technology and Innovation (OT&I). This position will also work to formalize a community of practice (CP) within the processing disciplines. This CP will facilitate regional networking, development and succession planning opportunities along with highlighting regional strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats within the processing discipline. This information will be utilized in short, medium and long term HR management along with potential/need for strategic hires. This CP will also facilitate knowledge transfer to ensure any processing improvements are quickly implemented where practical elsewhere in the region.
