Production Superintendent  [June 14, 2017]

Location: QLD, Australia

An experienced Production Superintendent required for a QLD underground metalliferous operation.

Your new company

Capricorn Copper is one of Australiaís largest copper projects under development. Located in the prolific base metals region, 125km north of Mt Isa in NW Queensland, Capricorn Copper is a fully permitted mine with a long history of operations and a significant high grade resource base. The mine is currently completing a capital program to upgrade the process plant and expand mining capacity. Once complete the operation is expected to produce approximately 30ktpa of copper in concentrate over an initial Mine Life of 10 years with a target of producing in the lower half of the copper cost curve. The high grade resource at Capricorn Copper is one of the Northwest regionís largest copper resources by contained copper and is already being expanded through a highly successful exploration program. This success is expected to underpin further growth projects and opportunities to extend the initial mine life beyond the initial 10 years.

Capricorn Copper is building a team of passionate and motivated people to contribute to our emergence as one of the most exciting copper success stories in Australia. Currently we require a results driven Production Superintendent who shares our core values of clear vision, empowerment, ownership, responsibility and respect to join our team.

Your new role

Reporting to the Processing Manager you will be responsible for leading the production team that will commission and operate the plant. This includes recruiting shift crew Supervisors and team members that share the same CCM values, ensuring they are adequately trained to safely carry out their jobs and providing coaching, guidance and support in compliance with site policies and procedures. Your initial work tasks upon commencement will include development and improvement of the isolation and permit system, input into the commissioning plan and management of plant handover and handback from the maintenance and project team during the refurbishment phase.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role it is essential you have proven experience in commissioning and operation of a concentrator (ideally copper). This will include proven experience in leading and performance managing production crews.

What you'll get in return

At Capricorn Copper your contribution will be valued and you will have a unique opportunity to join a lean hands on team at the start of the journey. You will see a strong connection between your efforts and the success of the organisation. The test of our success will be when we look back and are proud of what we did and how we did it. Capricorn Copper is proud to be part of the Northwest community and promotes employment opportunities locally and for regional Queensland (Townsville and Cairns) through competitive salary packages and benefits.
