Process Optimisation Engineer (Metallurgist)  [July 31, 2017]

Location: Brisbane, Australia

A market leader, our client is a well-regarded manufacturing & service company providing a range of specialist consumable products used within the mining & resources sector. They are looking to appoint a suitably qualified Process Optimisation Engineer who brings sound experience within this industry to their team. Reporting to the National Sales Manager, your role will be responsible for partnering with internal teams and external clients to review and analyse operational requirements regarding the products on each site. You will develop and implement key metallurgical and process engineering strategies and initiatives to improve our product performance and help to further build performance capabilities. As a confident Process Engineer it is expected that you will be accountable for reviewing and analysing short to medium term operational requirements, as well as developing and implementing a range of metallurgical and process improvement initiatives to meet objectives. Building relationships with stakeholders, you will also provide high level up to date advice and support to the company and managers regarding all metallurgical and process engineering related matters, assisting to develop their knowledge and understanding of process engineering, metallurgical requirements and effects on products.

To be considered for this role, it is essential that you are either a degree qualified Metallurgist, Metallurgical Engineer or a Process Engineer with a high level of competency within mining or extractive mineral processing. You will bring knowledge of upstream and downstream processes and be able to communicate confidently with stakeholders at all levels, undertaking regular travel to mine sites in both Queensland and NSW. As a professional in the field, you will be able to demonstrate sound experience in a mining process plant environment, preferably from an SME environment with exposure to larger organisations.

While being based in or around Mackay is preferred, the company would also consider this position being based out of Brisbane due to the large travel component. Candidates that bring established knowledge and experience within the coal industry will be highly regarded.
