:: Metso Minerals will Supply a Bulk Materials Handling Solution to Cia. Siderúrgica Nacional in Brazil

Metso Minerals will supply a bulk material handling solution to Cia. Siderúrgica Nacional (CSN), a Brazilian steel producer. The order was received in November 2004. The delivery will be completed by June 2006.

Metso Minerals will deliver a turnkey solution to CSN, including two stacker reclaimers, each with a capacity of 8,800 ton/h, and a reclaimer of 6,100 ton/h capacity. In addition, Metso Minerals will upgrade a ship unloader into a shiploader with a loading capacity of 14,000 ton/h. Metso Minerals will also supply design and engineering services to CSN.

The new solution will increase the iron ore exports on CSN's coal unloading facilities at Sepetiba Port Terminal, where CSN owns a container terminal (TECON).

CSN is one of the largest steel companies in Latin America with an annual production capacity of 5.8 million tons. CSN's net sales in 2003 were approximately USD 2.5 billion.
