:: Successful Chinese Plant Start Up
Ausmelt has announced that the Ausmelt Technology copper smelter built by Anhui Tongdu Copper Stock Company in Anhui Province, China has successfully reached design production capacity in two months.
The new smelter was designed to process 330,000 tonnes a year of copper concentrates to produce copper matte for further refinement in the existing Jinchang Smelter complex near Tongling City.
Mr Lin Shendao, President of the Jingchang Smelter, said: ďWe are very pleased that our project was able to reach design production capacity, just over two months after the first feed material was introduced to the furnace. This is a very good performance and our thanks are extended to all of the Ausmelt people who participated in the project."
Ausmeltís Managing Director, Mr Paul Abbott, said: ĒThis is a great achievement by the people at Jinchang Smelter and by Ausmeltís commissioning crew. Congratulations to them all. Once again we have demonstrated the short ramp-up times that can be achieved with Ausmelt Technology."
By enabling plants to ramp up to full production so quickly, Ausmeltís TSL technology offers customers substantial revenue opportunities through earlier sale of product as well as significant cash flow advantages and cost savings.
Ausmeltís quick-time ramp-up compares with a typical commissioning timeframe for alternative technologies of six to twelve months to reach full capacity.
