:: Positive Results from Phu Kham

Pan Australian has announced results from the Preliminary Study on the Phu Kham copper-gold deposit indicating potential for it to support an economically viable mining and processing operation.

The study primarily focused on the metallurgical and processing characteristics of the deposit, located 105km northeast of Vientiane in Laos, and concluded that the mineralogy of the deposit is amenable to flotation to produce a saleable copper-gold concentrate.

The study considered a range of development and operating scenarios with annual copper-gold production ranging between 57,600 to 100,000 tonnes of copper and 52,000 to 72,000 ounces of gold.

Pan Australian Resources Managing Director Gary Stafford said the company plans to complete a program of resource drilling by September 2004 in order that a more reliable mineral resource estimate and initial ore reserve estimate can be completed.
