:: Pyrite Roasting Plant for Tongling, China

Outokumpu Technology will design a new pyrite roasting plant for Tongling Nonferrous Metals to be built in Tongling, about 500 km west of Shanghai.

Outokumpu's scope covers the engineering of the pyrite roasting plant and waste heat boiler, supply of special equipment as well as erection and commissioning supervision. The plant is designed to produce 400 000 tons sulfuric acid annually and steam for electrical energy and it will be the largest pyrite roaster worldwide.

The plant commissioning is scheduled for the second half of 2006.
