:: Metallurgical Results Enhance H4 Project Study

Tethyan Copper Company has reported 'exceptional' metallurgical test results from work carried out as part of the bankable feasibility study of its H4 'starter' copper project at Reko Diq in Pakistan.

The company is contemplating an operation producing about 40 kt/y of copper by bioheap leaching, solvent extraction and electrowinning. The current series of column leach tests have demonstrated copper extractions from 64% to 88% after only 90 days. A further batch of column bioleach optimisation tests is in preparation.

The H4 project currently contains an indicated resource of 126.3 Mt at 0.7% copper, and a detailed drill-out is expected to be completed by early December to provide data for a revised resource estimate. The total indicated and inferred resources in the Reko Diq area contain over 12 billion pounds of copper and 9 million ounces of gold.
