:: Tara Will Resume Full Production in September The Board of Directors of Outokumpu has decided that production at Tara zinc mine in Ireland will recommence in September. When Tara's production was suspended last November the reasons were the poor market situation and low price of zinc as well as the high costs of the operation. Following a three months care and maintenance period a decision was taken to carry out a program to improve Tara's productivity. Outokumpu is pleased with the progress of the development work made at Tara Mines. The program to improve the technical condition of the Mine, the progress with SWEX as well as the completion of the Bula acquisition in July form a solid foundation for Tara's future as a viable long term zinc mine.
