:: Outokumpu Technology to Deliver a Grinding Technology Package for LKAB, Sweden

Outokumpu Technology has signed a contract with LKAB, a Swedish iron mining company and pellet producer, to deliver a grinding technology package for the concentrator of LKAB Malmberget project MK3 in Northern Sweden. The contract value exceeds EUR 6 million.

This contract is a result of a successful long cooperation between LKAB and Outokumpu Technology and it complements the pelletizing plant delivery contract signed in November for the same project.

Outokumpu's scope covers grinding technology, engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning services. The technology package includes one trunnion supported Rod Mill, the largest ever built, and two Ball Mills that are both shell supported.

The commissioning of the concentrator is scheduled for August 2006.
