:: FFE Minerals Equipment used in New Limestone Projects FFE Minerals has completed shipment of equipment to NB Power's Coleson Cove Generating Station Refurbishment Project in Saint John, New Brunswick. FFE Minerals was awarded the project by Babcock & Wilcox Company in mid-2002. Erection is scheduled to begin this year and be completed in the second quarter of 2004. Plant start-up/commissioning is estimated for the third quarter of 2004. FFE Minerals scope of supply includes two (2) 3.4 meter diameter x 7.0 meter long FT Series ball mills and two Technequip hydrocyclone Cyclo-Pacs. The 1,400 HP grinding mills will process 22.5 MTPH of limestone to be used in the project's flue gas desulphurization (FGD) plant. FGD plants are used to reduce SO2 emissions. The Coleson Cove Project represents FFE Minerals second contract to supply equipment to NB Power. In the early 1990's FFE Minerals supplied limestone grinding and classifying equipment for a two-line FGD circuit at their Dalhousie Generating Station in northern New Brunswick. FFE Minerals has also been awarded a limestone grinding system contract for a flue gas de-sulphurisation (FGD) project located in Berkeley County, South Carolina. The new FGD Project includes (2) 3.1m x 6.0m FT Series ball mills, each rated at 24 tons per hour. The equipment will be used by Santee Cooper, South Carolina's state-owned electric and water utility, at their Cross Generating Station, Unit 3. Parsons E&C is providing the engineering and construction management for the project.
