:: Clean-coal Processing Plant to be Built in the Latrobe Valley
Ignite Energy Resources (IER) and TRUenergy has announced that they will build a demonstration project in the Latrobe Valley would boost local employment and provide an important step in the development of new and clean options for coal development in the valley.
The Brumby Labor Government has welcomed the coal-to-liquids and coal drying projects claiming that the developments will create jobs and cause economic growth in the region.
The project is expected to process up to 60,000 tonnes of high moisture content brown coal per annum that will produce up to 60,000 barrels high grade oil and 18,000 tonnes of high-grade dry coal.
The government says that Victoria has vast brown coal resources and it is vital both industry and government examine new and clean options for its development, such as these minerals processing projects.
