:: Larox to Supply Filters to Peru

Larox will deliver filters to three separate concentrator plants in Peru. Total value of the recently received orders is approx. 5 million euros. Deliveries from Finland will take place in the latter half of 2005.

The delivery to Sociedad Minera Cerro Verde S.A.A. (Cerro Verde) consists of two units of Larox PF pressure filters with ancillaries for copper concentrate filtration. The filters will be part of the USD 850 million expansion to mine a primary sulphide ore body beneath the oxide ore body currently in production at Cerro Verde mine near Arequipa. Mining of the sulphide ore body is expected to begin in late 2006. The expanded copper production rate should be achieved in the first half of 2007. Current copper production at Cerro Verde is approximately 100,000 tons per year. Upon completion of the expansion, copper production initially will approximate 300,000 tons per year. Major owner of Cerro Verde is Phelps Dodge Corp., one of the world’s leading producers of copper and molybdenum. Larox has supplied several filters to the company’s other plants.

Compania Minera Volcan has ordered three units of Ceramec Capillary Action Disc Filters for zinc concentrate filtration. These filters will be installed to Paraghsa and Andaychagua concentrator plants. Volcan is the largest producer of lead concentrate and silver in Peru, and the second largest producer of zinc concentrates. This is a repeat order for Ceramec filters. Volcan has also Larox PF and Hoesch OS filters in operation.
