:: Jourdan to Exit Mintek, Rejoin Government

State-owned minerals research body Mintek reported this week that its CEO, Dr Paul Jourdan will become part-time advisor to the Minister of Minerals & Energy on minerals beneficiation strategies for South Africa and the continent when his contract ends in August.

In this regard, Mintek will continue to be an important component of his portfolio.

"Over the past four and a half years, Jourdan has transformed and restructured the minerals technology science council into a world-class commercially viable research and development (R&D) enterprise, increasingly reflective of South African realities. Old areas of R&D competence have been strengthened and new capacity has been created to service SMMEs and the "Second Economy"," Mintek said in a statement.
