Mintek's Board has announced the appointment of Mr Abe Mngomezulu, currently a Deputy Director-General at the Department of Minerals and Energy, as the organisation's new Chief Executive Officer.
Mr Mngomezulu, who has been a member of the Mintek Board from March 2004 to February 2007, has more than twenty year's joint experience in the mining industry. He has extensive knowledge of minerals exploration, mineral economics and strategy development and holds a number of qualifications, including a BSc Honours in Geology, graduate courses in Engineering, Mining Economics and Financial Management. Mr Mngomezulu will take over from the current CEO, Dr Paul Jourdan, on 1 September 2007.
