:: New MD: Bateman Diamonds

Theo Qabaka has been appointed Managing Director of Bateman Engineering’s Diamonds strategic business unit.

Theo, who has a BSc (Eng), joined Bateman Engineering in 2005 as Managing Director of Bateman Africa, having been associated with the mining industry for some 25 years, working for De Beers, Anglo American and Shell SA in various capacities. Before joining Bateman Africa, he was Managing Director of the New Diamond Mining Corporation, and prior to that General Manager at Anglogold’s West Wits and Free State surface operations. His experience is wide ranging as he has worked in production, projects and research in the diamond, coal, base metal and heavy minerals sectors.
