![]() :: Mintek Appoints Mineral Processing Division Manager Mintek, South Africa's national minerals technology organisation, is pleased to announce the appointment of Vishal Deeplaul as Manager: Minerals Processing Division. Vishal holds a BSc in Mineral Science (Extractive Metallurgy) and Chemistry from Murdoch University, Perth, Western Australia. He spent five years in the Australian mining industry where he worked on a variety of projects including diamonds, SAG milling and leaching of oxide gold ores, and gold and base metals bioleaching, before joining Mintek as Principal Engineer in 1999. At Mintek, he has played a major role in the transfer of bioleaching technology to industry, including the commissioning of a commercial bacterial-oxidation facility for gold in Australia and running a large-scale integrated demonstration plant for copper recovery in Mexico.
