:: Dr Lee Fergusson joins Virotec International

Environmental remediation company Virotec International Ltd has appointed Dr Lee Fergusson to the newly created position of Chief Operating Officer - Asian Development.

Dr Fergusson was a Director/President and Chief Operating Officer of Global Online India, Inc., a U.S. public company trading under the symbol GOLX. GOLX provides e-commerce and e-business solutions to Indian consumers and to 20 million non-resident Indians throughout the world. In his capacity as President and COO, he was responsible for all aspects of designing and implementing the companys business strategy, including technology development, financing strategies and partnerships, investor relations, NASD and SEC compliance, and sales and marketing. Dr Fergusson was the primary driver of the merger, which resulted in GOLX becoming a public company in 2000.

Prior to his position at GOLX, Dr Fergusson worked for USA Global Link, Inc., a global telecommunications provider based in Iowa and Denver, Colorado. From 1996 to 1997 he held a variety of positions including Managing Director of Major Accounts, negotiating contracts with large international telecom carriers. From 1998 to 1999 he was Vice President of International Business Development, responsible for business planning and strategy and global business expansion. In his capacity as President and COO from 1999 to 2001, he was responsible for all aspects of business operations, including finance, HR, MIS, legal affairs and sales and marketing.

Prior to joining USA Global Link, Dr Fergusson was a management consultant in object-oriented analysis and design (OOAD) and business process re-engineering (BPR) for the Object Discovery Corporation.

He has been a featured speaker at conferences in Hong Kong, London, Cannes, Barcelona, Colorado Springs, New Orleans, and Washington, D.C. He is currently on the Industry Advisory Board of INOMY, an Indian Internet economy association based in New Delhi, and from 1998 to 1999 was a Director and Chair of the Internet and Data Committee of the European Competitive Telecommunications Association (ECTA) based in London.
