:: DEM Solutions Appoints a Sales Director in the Asia Pacific Region

DEM Solutions, a world leading developer of discrete element modeling software solutions, is pleased to announce the appointment of David Byrne as Sales Director for the Asia Pacific region. David will be supporting DEM’s 6 regional distributors and direct sales channels and will be based in Singapore.

Currently DEM services over 20 international organisations in the Asia Pacific region with its market leading EDEM software. EDEM is an advanced simulation and analysis tool that predicts the flow of particulates in complex manufacturing processes. The information EDEM generates enables engineers to investigate the effect of product characteristics and operating conditions without the need to build costly prototypes.

Dr John Favier, CEO of DEM Solutions, added: “I am pleased to welcome David on board. His knowledge in the application of advanced simulation software and long experience in the region will be of great help as we expand in the Asia Pacific markets."

David Byrne has worked in the Asia Pacific region for over 18 years and has extensive experience in the computer aided engineering sector - in particular the use of CAD, CAE and CFD software in the aerospace, electronics and mechanical engineering industries. For the last five years he was Regional Director for Blue Ridge Numerics, the fastest growing CFD (computational fluid dynamics) software company in the world, and responsible for the company’s rapid expansion in the Asia Pacific region. Prior to that, he had 13 years of experience working in the Pacific Rim region on engineering related projects with clients in Taiwan, China, Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, India, Australia and Japan.

David Byrne, Sales Director at DEM Solutions, said: “DEM delivers market leading technology in the field of simulating and analyzing particulate handling, processing and manufacturing operations. Major application sectors in Asia include the pharmaceutical, chemical, mineral and materials processing industries, and I'm excited to be able to help extend its presence in the region."
