:: Teh C Lo (1927-2009)

T C Lo died on Wednesday, December 16, 2009. He was born in Lungyan, Fukien, China in 1927 and lived in Wayne, USA for the last 42 years. He earned a Masters degree in Science at Steven's Institute of Technology and was a senior chemical engineering fellow at Hoffmann-LaRoche, for 33 years before retiring. He was a well known and respected chemical engineer in the field of solvent extraction and lectured widely in North and South America, Europe and was appointed honorary adjunct visiting professor at the East China Institute of Chemical Technology in Shanghai in 1985. He will be remembered for his research in the field of design of column contactors for solvent extraction, and among his many publications he was especially pround of being a co-editor of "The Handbook of Solvent Extraction," still one of the leading reference books in the field.
