:: IMPC Young Persons' Awards

The IMPC Young Persons' Awards for 2010 were made at the Gala Dinner in Brisbane on September 8th.

The recipients, who are photographed with 2010 IMPC Chairman Robin Batterham, were:

  • Megan Becker, Research Officer, University of Cape Town, South Africa
  • Kathryn Hadler, Postdoctoral Research Associate, Imperial College London, UK
  • Peter Ireland, Research Physicist, University of Newcastle, Australia
  • Chad Loan, Global Technology Development, Thickeners, Outotec, Australia
  • Angus Morrison, Masters Student, University of Cape Town, South Africa
  • Can Ozer, Research Scholar, JKMRC - University of Queensland, Australia
  • Victoria Ramsell, Plant Metallurgist, Kalgoorlie Consolidated Gold Mines, Australia
  • Mathilde Robben, Research Associate, RWTH Aachen University, Germany
  • Weimin Zeng, Doctor, CSIRO, Australia

The eligibility criteria were: the nominee must be the major contributing author of the paper, 35 years of age or younger at the time of the congress and must be registered to attend at the time of nomination.

The Organising Committee judged the papers based on the below list (not in order of importance)

1. The quality of the experimental methods used
2. The quality of the results
3. The discussion of the results
4. The overall presentation.
