:: New Head at CSM

A year after announcing, in the March 2014 CSMA Newsletter, that Professor Frances Wall was ending her term as CSM Head of School and, after many months of interviewing and deliberation, Professor Ken Evans, Dean of the College of Engineering, Mathematics and Physical Sciences (CEMPS, which encompasses CSM), was pleased to announce in early February, that the new Head of Camborne School of Mines would be Professor Kip Jeffrey.

Kip is a Mining Geologist by training, who has spent half his career in the minerals industry, with the other half spent in universities. He has been employed by the University of Exeter as First Quantum Professor of Mining Education at CSM, since October 2012, following ten years at Leicester University. Kip is currently involved in a new programme being offered at CSM for industry staff, which was highlighted in the 2013/14 CSMA Journal, distributed in November 2014.
