:: Luke Rogers Joins Deister Concentrator


On April 1 Luke Rogers joined Deister Concentrator as Business Development and Product Engineer. Luke resides in the historic Cornwall, England mining district. Other than the time he spends at the Deister plant in Fort Wayne, he will continue to operate from the Cornwall location. Luke is currently spending time in Fort Wayne, orienting him to the company, the Deister equipment, and its culture and business practices.

Luke has a distinguished history in the mineral and mining industries with operational experience working in the UK, Democratic Republic of Congo, Eritrea and Zambia. He graduated from the University of Exeter Camborne School of Mines with both a bachelorís degree in Engineering with Honors in Mining Engineering, as well a Master of Science degree in Mineral Engineering. Luke is a member of the Minerals Engineering Society and the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining.

Deister Concentrator was purchased from Carroll Industries by the Sherman Group in 2005. At the time of that purchase, Deister was operating in Knoxville, Tenn. Originally from Indiana, the company was founded in Fort Wayne in 1906 by Emil Deister. For over 100 years Deister has been recognized for its expertise in processing equipment for the minerals and coal mining industries. Primarily known for its expertise in minerals shaking tables, Deister also manufactures a broad line of hydrocyclones, in addition to other mining-related equipment.
