:: Canadian Mining Hall of Fame Calls for Nominations

The Board of Directors of The Canadian Mining Hall of Fame has issued its yearly call for nominations that will lead to the induction of a new group of individuals.

The next group of inductees to The Canadian Mining Hall of Fame (CMHF) will be formally honoured at a dinner to be held on January 20, 2005. They will add their names to the over one hundred remarkable achievers who have been selected since the inception of the CMHF in 1989.

Nominations of persons who have made an outstanding contribution to the Canadian mining industry can be made by individuals, firms, and organizations. However, nominations must be channelled through organizations that are Sponsors and/or Associates of the CMHF. Sponsors include the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada, The Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum, the Northern Miner and the Mining Association of Canada. Associates include some provincial and territorial mining associations and a few other mining-related organizations.

Nominations submitted must include the specific information described in the CMHF's Guidelines for Nominations. These Guidelines and the Criteria for Selection are available from Sponsors and Associates. Nominations must be forwarded to Sponsors or Associates by July 30, 2004 to give them sufficient time to consider a nomination for their final slate.
