:: Career Move and DSc for Prof. Markus Reuter

Markus A. Reuter has recently been appointed as Chief Executive Technologist Ausmelt Ltd., Australia (Markus.Reuter@ausmelt.com.au). He will retain his position at the University of Melbourne as an Honorary Professorial Fellow as well as an extraordinary Professor at the University of Stellenbosch (South Africa).

He has also been awarded the Doctor of Engineering degree from the University of Stellenbosch (South Africa) in December 2006 with the title "Fundamental Limits of Recycling - From minerals processing to computer aided design of automobiles and other consumer goods". Prof Reuter received his B.Eng. in 1981, M.Eng. (1985) and Ph.D. (1991) from the University of Stellenbosch (South Africa) and Dr.Habil. in 1995 from Aachen University of Technology (Germany). He was Group Leader in the Measurement and Control Division, Mintek, Metallurgist at Anglo American Corporation (both South Africa) and registered Professional Engineer (South Africa).

From 1996-2005 he was Professor at the Delft University of Technology (Netherlands) and since July 2005 Professor at University Melbourne (Australia). He has ca. 300 publications (journal and conference proceedings) and has written a book ‘Metrics of Material and Metal Ecology’ 706p. Elsevier (Amsterdam).
