:: Sandy Gray wins National Science and Technology Award

Working as a mine manager, Sandy Gray invented new equipment to improve mineral separation based on the art of gravity separation. Using this technique, he has assisted numerous mining operations to minimise their environmental impact and cost by limiting the use of chemicals. His company, Gekko Systems, has now installed over 100 of its systems at mines in 18 countries. Customers include Anglo Gold, Ashanti Goldfields and DeBeers.
