:: Parker Cooperative Research Centre Appoints New Director
Dr John Kildea, R&D Manager in Australia for the global Nalco Mining & Minerals Processing Group, has been appointed an Industry Director at the Parker Cooperative Research Centre for Integrated Hydrometallurgy Solutions.
The Parker Centre has grown to become one of the world’s leading hydrometallurgical research organisations. Results of the Centre’s endeavours have been, and are being applied, throughout the mining industry - from exploration, mining and processing to increasing sustainability.
The Core Research Participants in the Parker Centre are CSIRO Minerals, Curtin University, Murdoch University and the University of Queensland.
Research is conducted in three primary focus areas - alumina, gold and base metals - with each focus area supported by an industry-based technical panel.
A member of the Centre’s Alumina Technical Panel, Dr Kildea initially worked with Nalco Australia between 1990 and 2000 in research and product development.
In 2006 he re-joined the company as the Australian R&D Manager for the global Mining and Minerals Processing Group, charged with enhancing Nalco’s research presence in this country, which has included the establishment of strategic mining research hubs in Perth and Sydney.
