The 46 papers represent only some of those delivered at the meeting of the Society's Extraction and Processing Division, some others being published in separate volumes focusing on the topic of particular symposia. They describe and discuss a broad cross-section of university and industry extractive and processing technology, covering general non-ferrous pyrometallurgy; thermochemical modeling and physical properties; the pyrometallurgical processing of minerals and metals; recycling ferrous and heavy metals; fundamentals of extracting and recycling lead and zinc; high-temperature processes for waste treatment and minimization; and pressure technology applications in the hydrometallurgy of copper, nickel, cobalt, and precious metals. They are reproduced from typescripts, some double spaced. There is no subject index.
