Metso Minerals launches a new range of track-mounted crushing plants, adding a further dimension to productivity. Four models have so far been equipped with a single-deck screen. The result is that one and the same unit can produce two different products, one of which is calibrated.

Conventional track-mounted plants are equipped with a discharge conveyor producing one fraction.

The four models are LT95S, LT105S and LT1213S for contract crushing and the larger LT110S for bigger contract crushing operations and also for quarrying. The LT1213S is equipped with an impact crusher, the others with a jaw crusher.

Shown here is a Nordberg LT1213S in its primary function: with the added screen the machine is able to produce two products at the same time.

Significant new benefits

"As far as we know, Metso Minerals is the only supplier that manufactures this type of track-mounted crushing plants equipped with jaw crushers.

We have been very pleased with customer response, since well over a hundred such S Series plants have been sold since their introduction three years ago," comments Mr Jouni Hulttinen, product manager for the contractor line of LT plants.

The new range offers significant customer benefits:

• Each LT is a compact plant that can be moved on a low-bed trailer
• The screen rotation direction can be changed to gain either higher capacity or improved screening efficiency in more difficult applications such as wet material or the need for smaller fractions
• Servicing the screen or changing the mesh is safe and easy since this is done at ground level with no need for a crane
• The LT1213S can be operated in open or closed circuit, which provides further opportunity for an increased amount of calibrated end product

The new range has already proved highly popular. Well over 100 units have been sold to date with sales covering the whole world.

Two machines in one

To demonstrate the benefits of the range, we describe here the LT110S in more detail:

• LT110S is the newest member in the S Series of LT units equipped with a screen
• The screening unit is a highly efficient single-deck screen. Although the unit is equipped with a longer than standard discharge conveyor, this offers a considerably larger stockpile capacity
• The LT110S is easy to transport and since the screen can be removed and installed for operation in minutes, the whole unit is an ideal choice for high-capacity contract crushing
• The plant is equipped with a heavy-duty Nordberg C110 jaw crusher

Since there are no limitations on compressive strength, it can crush the toughest rock. The typical capacity range is from 200 to 400 t/h.

"The prototype was ready in 2002 and so far some 10 units have been sold to Norway, Sweden and Spain," Mr Jorma Kempas, product manager, summarizes.
