:: Larox to Acquire Outokumpu Filter Business  

Lappeenranta-based Larox and Outokumpu Oyj have signed an agreement on the purchase of the filter business now part of Outokumpu Technology business. The value of the acquisition is approximately EUR31 million. It is expected that the acquired business will be moved over to Larox by 1 January 2004. The realization of the acquisition includes normal provisions related to acquisitions.

The business to be acquired
In 2003, the net sales of the acquired business will be approximately EUR40 million and the operating profit before extraordinary items approximately EUR2.8 million. The acquisition comprises of Outokumpu Technology GmbH pressure filter business in Germany, vacuum belt filter business of Dutch Royal Pannevis bv and Outokumpu Mintec Oy vacuum filter business in Finland. As a result of the acquisition 172 persons will join Larox.
