:: BOKELA Drum Filter for Top-Demanding Filtration of a Highly Corrosive Leach

BOKELA delivered a 25 m drum filter in the processing industry for filtering a hot and highly corrosive leach. The physical conditions and the chemical characteristics of the hot crystallising product are highly demanding for the construction material and filter design. After a long period of own filter design & manufacturing the client now decided in favour of the BOKELA drum filter due to BOKELAs superior rotary vacuum filter concept proven with thousands m filter area in many challenging applications. Based on these extreme operating conditions BOKELA made a special filter design to minimise the weld and material wear. The filter therefore has a minimum of weld joints and the hydrodynamically optimised filtrate pipes are easy accessible and exchangeable.

An additional cake froming zone which can be automatically connected on demand provides the filter with a reserve capacity and high flexibility. The capacity of the new drum filter in impressive: A filtrate throughput of 250 m/h allows the client to replace two existing 20 m drum filters by only one new filter. The operation time between two filter washings could be doubled compared to the former drum filter.

Only two weeks after starting operation the filter passed the performance test successfully.
