:: Seprotech Spins German Coal

South African firm Seprotech is supplying vibrating screen centrifuges to Germany for coal dewatering applications. The first HSG1300 unit was shipped last September, four identical vibrating centrifuges were dispatched in March of this year, with a sixth unit sent in May and more orders set to come.

The HSG 1300 centrifuge has a 1300 mm basket diameter and a maximum capacity of 200 tonnes/hour. All six of HSG1300s sent to Germany are lined with engineered ceramic tiles from Multotec Wear Linings, to reduce wear.

Seprotech entered into a licensed manufacturing agreement with Siebtechnik for the vibrating screen centrifuges during last year. Centrifuges usually feature either a pushing action or internal conveyor scrolls for discharging solids but these vibrating units feature horizontal vibration instead and are said to be particularly well-suited to coal dewatering duties where large particles are present.
