:: Larox to Supply Filters to Southern Africa
Larox has been awarded several contracts to supply filters to mining and metallurgical companies in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Zambia. Total value of the orders for different types of solid/liquid separation, filtration equipment and ancillaries is approximately 5 million euros. Most of the orders were booked for the fourth quarter of 2005. Deliveries from Finland will take place at the end of this year and during the first half of 2006.
Outokumpu Technology, Finland, has ordered two Ceramec Capillary Action Disc Filters for their International Ferro Metals’ (IFM) new chrome ore pelletizing and sintering plant project. Outokumpu Technology will supply to South Africa the core pelletizing and sintering technology consisting of the basic engineering and supply of key equipment. The scope also covers the supervision of installation and start-up of the plant as well as training of the operating personnel. The plant will produce 400 000 tonnes of sintered- chromite pellets per year.
The other deliveries to South Africa consist of a Larox PF Automatic Pressure Filter for PGM concentrate filtration and a Scheibler Polishing filter to recover ammonium diuranate (ADU) precipitate, entrained in the ADU thickener overflow to ensure good plant yield and safe environmental standards.
The delivery to Zambia consists of a Larox PF filter for copper concentrate filtration and to Zimbabwe also a Larox PF filter for PGM concentrate filtration.
The received orders strengthen further Larox’s position as one of the world’s leading filtration solution providers for the mining and metallurgical industries.
