:: 10 Million Euro Filter Deals for Larox from Mining Industry
Larox has been awarded several major contracts from mining and metallurgical companies in Japan, Peru, Australia and in the U.S.A. Total value of the orders for different types of solid/liquid separation, filtration equipment and ancillaries is approximately 10 million euros. Orders were booked for the third quarter of 2006. Deliveries will take place during 2007 and the first quarter of 2008.
The order from Japan is from JGC and consists of one Larox PF Automatic Pressure Filter for mixed sulphide washing and filtering and two units of Scheibler Polishing Filters for zinc free liquor purification. Filters will be delivered to Coral Bay Mining Corporation’s expansion project, which will double the capacity of the Coral Bay plant in Palawan Island, Philippines. It is a repeat order from JGC. First filters were sold in 2002 and plant in Philippines was started up during summer 2004. Processed mixed sulphide cake from Larox pressure filter is transported to Japan for further processing at Sumitomo Niihama plant where Larox PF filters are used, too.
The other major order from Japan is from Sumitomo Metal Mining, Toyo Smelter and Refinery and consists of two units of Ceramec Capillary Action Disc Filters for several different applications.
Cia Minera Volcan S.A.A. in Peru has ordered four Ceramec filters. Three filters will be used for lead concentrate filtration, one each at Volcan’s Victoria, Paragsha and Chungar plant where one filter will be also installed to filter zinc concentrate. Volcan has already four units of Ceramec filters in operation.
The received orders strengthen further Larox’s position as one of the world’s leading filtration solution providers for the mining and metallurgical industries.
