:: A Knelson-Sizetec Solution to Fines Dewatering Knelson Gravity Solutions recently completed production of a Knelson-Sizetec FRS (fines recover system) designed for dewatering plant tailings. The Knelson-Sizetec system was purchased by Pacific Gold, a Nevada based mining company for the Black Rock Canyon Gold operation in Nevada, USA. The equipment is scheduled for commissioning in the second quarter of 2007 and the system will replace existing screw-type sand classifiers. This model FRS is designed to process 460tph of slurry at 25% solids density by weight. The system produces a thick bed of material that travels up an inclined screen deck with 1mm openings producing a low moisture cake. The cake is discharged from the screen with the screen underflow being pumped to two Krebs D10 cyclones mounted above the screen. The low solids cyclone overflow can be recycled to the processing plant. The combination of an inclined deck dewatering screen and dewatering cyclones working in closed circuit is expected to produce excellent dewatering performance and will enhance the overall operating performance of the Black Rock Canyon operation.
