Postgraduate Research Scholarships at The Ian Wark Research Institute
The Ian Wark Research Institute (The Wark ™) is highly regarded in Australia and overseas for the excellence of its research and research education.
The Wark performs a range of fundamental and applied research in bio and polymer interfaces, colloids and nanostructures, and mineral processing. Staff and students work in modern, purpose-built research facilities and have access to an extensive range of state-of-the-art instrumentation.

The Wark is seeking high quality students to undertake exciting PhD research projects of strategic importance. Outcomes will add to fundamental scientific understanding and will have direct application to industry.
Applicants should have completed a minimum four year undergraduate degree, or a Masters degree, in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, mineral processing, polymer science, biotechnology, nanotechnology, or a related field.
Successful applicants will be trained in cutting edge scientific techniques. They will interact with national/international companies in their area of research, have the opportunity to attend conferences, and also benefit from our outstanding graduate employment record.
The Wark offers generous, tax free scholarships - a minimum of AU$27,651 per annum (2011 rate) - plus allowances for relocation and thesis preparation.
