|
AusIMM Education Endowment Fund The principal objectives of the Education Endowment Fund (EEF) are to attract the best secondary and tertiary students to those courses which will lead to a career in the Minerals Industry, by assisting them in their studies. The EEF does this by increasing secondary students' awareness of the industry primarily through the EEF scholarship program: Scholarships EEF Minerals Industry Scholarships are available to all students currently in the second year of a four-year AusIMM-recognised course. Scholarships are valued at $7000 per year for two years. The scholarship offered by the Education Endowment Fund is a two-year scholarship available to students who are commencing the third year of a four-year AusIMM-recognised course valued at $7000. Companies that have made major donations to The AusIMM Education Endowment Fund are allocated a Scholarship Naming Right. As a consequence the scholarship recipients have received a "Company Naming Right" attached to their scholarship. To apply for an EEF Minerals Industry Scholarship, please contact: Education Officer, The AusIMM, PO Box 660, Carlton South, Vic 3053 or e-mail: education@ausimm.com.au. Closing date for applications is 30 September each year. Further EEF Activities In addition to the Minerals Industry Scholarships, the EEF provides awards to tertiary students and conducts four Australian Student Mineral Venture (ASMV) programs annually for senior secondary students. The EEF also assists in the administration of other awards and prizes given throughout the year for outstanding theses and final-year projects from certain universities, as well as the generous and prestigious annual travel grant and scholarship from Outokumpu and Atlas Copco respectively.
