MEI Online: MEI Conferences: Ultrafine Grinding 08: Call for Papers

Home General Introduction Conference Venue Travel Information Call for Papers Conference Programme Registration Details Accommodation 2-in-1 Conferences Exhibition Sponsorship

Papers are invited for presentation at Ultrafine Grinding 08. All papers must be written and presented in English, the official language of the conference.

Themes

Many modern ore deposits are fine-grained and complex, requiring ultrafine grinding.

For some ores, adequate liberation of values is obtained only after grinding to sizes less than 20 microns, and sometimes much less.

Grinding to sizes as fine as this is inefficient and uneconomic in ball mills, and mining companies are now having to assess alternative technology, such as stirred milling.

Such technology has been in use for some time in other industries, such as chemicals and pharmaceuticals, and the aim of this meeting is to bring together scientists and engineers from different disciplines, to discuss common aims and problems.

Papers are invited, therefore, not only from the minerals industry, but also from any industry employing ultrafine grinding methods.
