:: Merger of Minerals Engineering and International Journal of Mineral Processing
As of January 2018, Minerals Engineering and International Journal of Minerals Processing will merge into one journal with the title Minerals Engineering incorporating International Journal of Minerals Processing.
Due to corporate mergers and acquisitions throughout the 1990s, Elsevier found itself publishing two journals with very similar scopes: International Journal of Mineral Processing was launched by Elsevier BV in 1974 while Minerals Engineering was launched by Pergamon Press Ltd in 1988. By merging together the two titles, we aim to create a single home for the mineral processing community with an increased level of impact.
Christopher Greenwell, Publishing Director at Elsevier for Engineering, said: “The incorporation of International Journal of Minerals Processing into Minerals Engineering will create a high-quality, market-facing unified title which will serve the whole minerals engineering and processing community. We are delighted to be able to draw on the expertise of both editorial teams on the unified journal.”
The online submission system for authors will be live from mid-2017 with articles to appear online via ScienceDirect during 2018.
