Senior Plant Metallurgist  [October 21, 2022]

Location: Plympton, Devon, UK

Are you steely in your determination to make a difference? Can you apply your particular brand of metal wizardry to improve our concentrator? If you’ve got the minerals, we’ve got the metals!

We are looking for a Senior Plant Metallurgist to join us at the Hemerdon Mine in Devon to help us restart this world-class asset.

To be successful, you will need to have a degree in Minerals Processing Engineering, Chemical Engineering or another related degree, with at least 8 years’ experience in a mineral processing facility and at least 3 years at a senior level. You will also need to have experience working in a dynamic processing plant under commissioning pressures where quick thinking and decision-making is required, as well as experience with PDCs, PFDs and PIDs and with SCADA systems.

Working at our unique and spectacular site, this fantastic role, reporting to the Metallurgical Superintendent, will be focused on the successful recommissioning of the 12,000tpd concentrator through effective troubleshooting and debottlenecking. The role will encompass providing technical support to the operational team though troubleshooting issues and providing technical training to the shift teams to ensure optimal performance of the concentrator, as well as management of a team of plant metallurgists.

We know, just like our minerals, our people are critical. So in return for your hard work, you will become part of the Tungsten West team, where you can expect to receive an excellent salary, live in the amazing South West of England and reap all the usual benefits, such as contributory pension scheme, 25 days paid leave and more.
