The recent rapid increases in nickel prices have been driven by market forces reacting to a supply situation that is expected to worsen in the years to come. Increasing the efficiency of the processing of nickel ores and concentrates is thus a necessity.

The aim of this conference was to bring together researchers and plant operators, to discuss all aspects of the physical and chemical processing or nickel ores, copper-nickel ores and laterites, and nickel concentrates, including:
